We may be in the last few weeks of summer but the exclusive freerolls are just starting heat up on PokerListings.com.

This week players will want to check out the new PartyPoker $5+$1 tournaments for players who sign up for the site through PokerListings.

Although not completely free, the low buy-in tournaments will offer $500 in added cash for PL.com players. In addition the top 20 players in each event will qualify for a $10+$2 with $1,500 added cash on Aug. 29.

Also worth checking out this week are the monthly 888poker $1,000 freeroll that kicks off on Sunday.

The following freerolls are open to all PokerListings.com players.

The Macau Millions kicked off in the Chinese gaming Mecca Wednesday.

Hosted by PokerStars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa, the first of five opening flights saw 112 players kick in the HKD $2,200 buy-in.

With its HKD $1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool, organizers are expecting The Macau Millions will set a new field size record for an Asia-based tournament. The previous record is 679 players.

The biggest cash games online have been relegated to the cap games on Full Tilt for the past few weeks. Many players, including Phil Galfond and Patrik Antonius, have complained that the cap pot-limit Omaha games are not ideal, but unfortunately, that’s where all of the action has been.

“I really dislike cap PLO,” Galfond wrote in his blog. “I think it’s a boring game with few complexities, and those complexities are more about math and running hand scenarios through calculators off the table than they are about psychology, leveling, and adjusting to opponents and game flow.

Ted Forrest talks about how prop bets are paid on the honor system on this week’s episode of The Scoop (sponsored by Full Tilt Poker) on Card Player TV.

888poker introduced one of its most dramatic upgrades ever this week with its new Poker 6 software.

The software is almost a complete overhaul of the former user experience with over 100 new features including improved search functions, layout, 3D table graphics and an always visible cashier.

Catering to both beginners and advanced players the new 3D lobby is separated into a simple easy-to-navigate section or an advanced layout with customizable features like favorites.

Tournament players will be happy to know 888poker has added late registration and several time bank options.

888poker also introduced its new online store where players can spend their reward points on poker merchandise, iPods, trips, cars and clothes.

To celebrate the new software, 888poker is launching a series of new micro buy-in tournaments where entry is just eight cents.

Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Chris Ferguson were among the players to bust on Day 2b of the 2010 WSOP Main Event.

A total of 2,734 players started the day but only a little over 1,400 will see the light of Day 3.

Ricardo Fasanaro, Gabriel Walls, Vanessa Selbst, Bryn Kenney and Alex Kostritsyn were among the chip leaders as the tournament clock was finally paused at the completion of the day.

Ivey and Brunson were definitely not the only people to bust as over 1,000 players were sent to the rail throughout the day.

There numerous celebrities in the field to start the day but Shannon Elizabeth, Trishelle Cannatella and Sam Simon were all among the players to bust.

Perhaps most disappointing elimination of the day was Ivey who last year fought his way through 6,488 runners before finally busting at the 2009 final table in seventh place.

Ivey ran pocket queens into pocket kings and despite hitting a queen on the turn was eliminated when his opponent made trip kings on the river.

The single biggest controversy of the day occurred when Prahlad Friedman was accused of making a call just as the time on a called clock had expired.

The dealer hadn’t heard the call and mucked Friedman’s hand.

Ted Bort was furious as he would have busted Friedman if he had called.
